ENDING PERIOD SHAME: ONE PAD AT A TIME

Mar 12, 2023 |

In Kenya, many girls are bullied and seen as dirty when they are on their period. Within many communities, there is a lack of education and understanding of menstruation as a whole.

Through our training and washable sanitary pads, we aim to normalise menstruation and end period shame.

The Kujuwa washable sanitary pad provides girls with a zero-waste, non-toxic alternative to disposables and is produced using up-cycled fabric waste from our SOKO Kenya clothing factory.

The washable pads come with removable flannel liners, increasing absorbency for the heaviest of flow. They are super easy to wash and will last a girl up to three years’ worth of period protection.

To date, we have donated over 10,000 of our pads alongside training in sexual health and menstruation.
